WWII Locomotives & War Series nº 34 - by Carlos Briz

(Class 4-6-2 locomotive - French Indochina Railways)

Two outstanding seaplanes coming up!

(Class PLM locomotive - French Railways in Algeria)

The French, like many european powers, saw it's land empire expand mainly during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Portugal was one of the first countries in Europe to establish colonies in other parts of the world and one of the last to leave them.

I feel compelled to make a truthful translation from portuguese to english of JF fine words, since he is saying that if someone manages to win a fair fight on the wargames table, sheduled for the 10th of September on this modelling event, he will be offering (as a prize) a free "paint job" of as many models as you can carry.

Do not miss out on this opportunity!

WWII Locomotives & War Series nº 33 - by Carlos Briz

(Class C 50 locomotive - Japanese National Railways)

And here you have another outstanding trio of dios!
Ok, now you know why poetry is not my thing...although when a guy looks at Carlos´s stuff you kind´a feel some inspiration coming up!

(Class S-2 locomotive - United States Navy)

The M10 gun carriage is one of my favourite tank destroyers!
Those of you who like to play the old "Blitzkrieg" PC wargame know what I mean...

(Class Sentinel Shunter locomotive - Great Western Railways)

I could say something like "this is new to me!", regarding this particular locomotive, but I will not, simply because where locomotives are concerned, they are ALL pretty "new" to me.

Spanish Civil War & Locomotives Series nº 10, by Carlos briz

(Class 030 locomotive - Spanish Northern Railways)

Here we are back to Carlos outstanding dioramas, once again related to our spanish neighbours!

A fine piece of modelling, that torpedo boat over there (on top of all the rest, of course)

(Class 030 locomotive - Spanish Northern Railways)

What is this?
Do you believe that even the americans sold airplanes to the Republican side?
Who else would remember to call an airplane "Peashooter"...

(Class 030 locomotive - Spanish Northern Railways)

Spain, at the time, was a place where anybody could make "an easy buck", and even the russians could see the point of capitalism...

In view of the participation of BT staff  in Ambush Blitz September Campaign in Lisbon, we met last Saturday at my house, the core of the Brigade to carry out several games.
The selected armies were, the German 21st PD and English 7th AD (with some units missing).
The tables tested were 3 and 5. In the first table the victory belonged to the British battlegroup, and in table 5 the Germans won the victory in the final rounds.
Anyway, Saturday afternoon was a very fruitful friends reunion, since the General JMM was a masterly example as a special private BTconsultant, with respect to the ABlitz tournament ahead.
We have to repeat it more often!

Indochina War & Locomotives War Series nº 2 - by Carlos Briz

(Class B 5 locomotive - French Indochina Railways)

Here you have more goodies related to the wars in Indochina.

The French had a lot of limitations in the matter of supplies during this conflict, leading some authors to think that that was the (main) cause for the failure of a western power over a third world country.

(Class 280 locomotive - French Indochina Railways)

However, in the case of the later conflict involving the USA, the argument that firepower and abudant supplies  alone were the recipe for victory did not prove it's point.

Indochina Wars & Locomotives Series nº 1 - by Carlos Briz

(Class B 5 locomotive - French Indochina Railways)

Question: name a place on Earth that was in a state of almost permanent warfare for almost half a century ?
I will give you a hint: Indochina (includes Vietnam, Laos & Cambodia)

If you think these are hard times, with all the economic problems going around?
Well, imagine the hard times people had over there, all the while they were being bombed by the japanese, the french, the americans, the chinese, between themselves and basically by whoever had a spare bomb to drop.

(Class Mikado 141 locomotive - French Indochina Railways)

That's what you can call pretty tough times.
